Internet And WWW Essays - Cultural Globalization, Digital Technology

Internet And WWW The "Internet" and "World Wide Web" Defined In recent years the Internet and World Wide Web (WWW) have become more and more popular as an information resource. Many people believe that the WWW is the same as the Internet. This is untrue. The Internet was designed in the late 60's as a way for a few military computers to exchange research data. Today, the Internet has evolved into a loose association of thousands of networks and millions of computers around the world. These networks are connected together using high-speed communication lines. Primarily, the millions of computers that access these networks use slower speed data connections and telephone dial-up connections. The WWW is actually a program that runs on the Internet. It's a collection of interlinked documents that work together using a special computer language called a protocol. This language allows millions of web documents, or "pages", to be accessed instantly with a click of a button. These documents can include, text, color, sounds, pictures and even movies. The Internet is essentially the hardware that connects all of the computers together. It consists of special computers that's sole purpose is to move data at high speeds between other computers. The World Wide Web is a piece of software that runs on the Internet. It's the actual information that is available on the Internet. Essentially, The Internet can function without the Web, but the Web cannot function without the Internet.

The Blue Bird Essays - Eve, Gwen Stefani, Free Essays, Term Papers

The Blue Bird Essays - Eve, Gwen Stefani, Free Essays, Term Papers The Blue Bird ICED MOCHA Man does it get boring sitting around in your room for hours. Theres just nothing to do at this town thats not a crime. Compton isnt the best place to live but you get used to it after you have lived there your whole life. I miss my dog bubbles, its been only 5 months since bubbles died. Bubbles was a good dog but not the brightest of all dogs. My family and I were just sitting in the living room when all of a sudden Bubbles ran and jumped out of the window and fell 5 stories to his death. I was going through a lot of suffering for that dog. This went on for a long time, then after five minutes I didnt care anymore so I watched some T.V. Well enough of that I wonder what my Mom is doing? Mom, Im bored. Jack you need to find something to do, go out and play with your friends or something. Mom, all the kids my age that live around here are gang members or doing something illegal, I want another pet. Right after I said pet my father Pa Pa Chulo turned around and looked at me. Damn boy you asking for another pet. Heres a thought how about you go out and get some friends. You didnt take good care of your other pet your mother had to do everything for that dumb dog. Pa Pa Chulo Bubbles was not dumb. Then what do you call a dog that jumps out of a window boy. I could see I was not getting anywhere by arguing with my Dad so I thought maybe I Should make a deal with my folks. Mom, Dad let me get a pet and if I not taking good enough care of I have to give it away, Ok? Thats fine with me Jack. Thanks Mom at least someone here is resonible. Pa Pa Chulo turned bright red and just started shacking. This is not good I should probably get out of here before he explodes. I jolted out of the apartment down the five flight of stairs and stopped when I was in the parking lot. I was very tired from this whole ordeal It felt like someone was pushing on my chest. See Im on the chubby side so you cant expect me to run down 5 flights of stairs and be alive. Yes lets go to the Pet Store and see what they have. While I was walking down the street many ideas of animals went through my head. How about a cat, no I had a cat before and they were boring and slept a lot. When we had an earthquake you could tell the cat didnt take it that well, he only slept 22 hours that day. Well how about a dog, I dont think so, I havent had the best of luck with dogs. Here I was at the Compton Pet Store, but when I looked inside there was only cats and dogs. Hey Mister Pet Store guy do you have any animals that are not cats or dogs? Well actually we just got a monkey. Wow a monkey, that sounds like a cool pet but I dont know if that will go by that good with Pa Pa Chulo. It doesnt matter. Sure Ill take him. The man went into the back room and came out with this monkey that didnt even go up to my knees, and was light brown. Hey I think Ill call him Ice Mocha. Mocha come on lets go shopping for you I dont want a naked monkey. Mocha just stared at me and let out a high pitch scream that had my ears ringing. Damn Mocha you crazy, you better stop this screaming stuff now if you want to be able to stay with me. My Dad would make me get rid of you in a second. Ice mocha jumped up on my shoulder and we left the store. Right across the street was a Nike Outlet store for Monkeys. Man Mocha how lucky are we. We bought him some air jordans and a red and black warmup. Man Mocha your looking mad fresh but one thing is missing, hmm, oh yeah

Canadian Economics Policies and employment Research Paper

Canadian Economics Policies and employment - Research Paper Example The control of money supply eventually leads to the changes in interest rates prevailing in the economy. These changes are generally introduced so as to influence other macroeconomic variables / factors, which include employment trends in the country, balance of payments, aggregate demand and supply and production, inflation rates, etc. It cannot be stated that there is a uniform or universally acceptable structure or model for devising the monetary policy of an economy, and depending on the particular characteristics and issues faced by an economy and the dynamics of national and international financial markets, every country designs its monetary policy in its own way (Bernanke & Mishkin, 1997). The objective of intervention in the economy by a country’s government through monetary policy has been largely to influence varying macroeconomic indicators, as mentioned in the previous paragraph; however, the techniques and methods of doing so have revolutionized on a continuous ba sis, which are built upon the conventional mechanisms of controlling inflation, unemployment rates and other variables (McEachern, 2011). The most important change noted in the techniques used to control macroeconomic variables through monetary policy is the shift from direct controlling of money supply through direct intervention of Central Banks to indirect controlling and depending upon market mechanisms and forces to act in a favorable manner (Hirschey, 2009; Nadal, 2001). Keeping in view this background, the present study aims at determining the relationship between monetary policy and inflation trends, with particular reference to the Canadian economy. In this regard, following research question has been formulated, which will be answered on the basis of analysis conducted by researcher in this report. Research Question The research question, which is to be answered in this study on the basis of analysis and findings, is: What is the nature of relationship between monetary pol icy and inflation, with specific regard to the Canadian economy? Keeping in view this research question, this study can be considered as an important contribution to the existing literature pertaining to the relationship between monetary policy and inflation in Canadian economy. Moreover, the fact that this study includes application of various macroeconomic factors and policies, it can therefore be regarded as an important research work for individuals interested in exploring the macroeconomic environment of Canada and how different factors correlate in a practical environment. Research Method Adopted There are two broad approaches of carrying out a research work, which include qualitative and quantitative research approaches. A qualitative research approach requires the researcher to assess information on the basis of its qualitative attributes and aspects. The qualitative research approach may not necessarily produce quantitative results, as it does not make use of quantitative a nalysis of the information. On the other hand, following a quantitative rese
